śūnyatā is a Sanskrit word meaning “ku“
śūnya is a word developed from śūna, which was created from śū (= śvA, śvi, a verb that means growth and prosperity), and means “lacking…”. This work is in a group photo consisting of four points, Śūnyatā 0, 1/3, 2/3, 1.
These works express how matter is born in the phenomenon world.
Through this work, we are trying to expose the wonders of the existence of people and things and the world behind them.
The photographic paper used in this work is a uniquely processed “Washi” suitable for platinum printing, which prevents oxidation of the Japanese paper and succeeds in evenly adhering the platinum solvent to the Japanese paper.
Platinum print, which has a wide and deep image gradation and can leave the most stable image in the history of photography, is a printing technique that photographers all over the world are paying attention to and using.
As the photographic paper, we have devised a process in which the solvent is applied evenly without waste and the deterioration over time is dramatically suppressed.
The platinum printing technology using these Japanese papers is the most advanced in the world.
In addition, we use the most rust-resistant type of stainless steel, and have devised a technique for attaching Japanese paper to stainless steel and a technique for peeling it off again, realizing a technique that is unprecedented.
